Residential Insect Management and Disease Management
Insects and diseases have the potential to quickly destroy your trees. Early detection is crucial to curing infected trees and protecting them from eventual removal. Ping’s arborists are trained to look for signs of stress such as undersized or discolored leaves, sawdust-like material, or small holes in the bark that show signs of illness or insects. These “tree doctors” can diagnose the residential insect management or disease issue and recommend a solution to maintain beautiful, healthy trees.
Emerald Ash Borer
The Emerald Ash Borer is one of the most destructive insects that we have ever encountered. While the adult beetles simply nibble on the ash foliage, causing little damage, the larvae feed on the inner bark of the ash tree. This disrupts the flow of water and nutrients and causes the tree to die.
In our experience, every tree that is infected with the Emerald Ash Borer will die if left untreated. The Emerald Ash Borer can and will kill every ash tree in an infested area. The states of Michigan and Ohio have already lost over 30 million ash trees to the Emerald Ash Borer.
Right now, the best method for combating an infestation of these pesky insects is early detection and treatment. Ash trees that are considered valuable should be treated now in order to ensure survival. Ping’s Tree Service has the knowledge and qualified tree care professionals to protect your trees from an otherwise certain death. We have Certified Arborists that know how to combat these invaders.
Symptoms of Emerald Ash Borer are similar to other diseases and pests that attack ash trees. Missing leaves and dead branches beginning at the top and throughout the canopy are one of the first signs to look for. Once your ash trees start showing these symptoms, it may be too late. We recommend having your trees examined and treated proactively before they start showing signs of infection.
